How about the building codes enforcement in Kathmandu valley, Nepal? How about solving the conditions of unsafe buildings affected by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal?? Lot of people are still living under unsafe buildings.
Thanks to Dutch researcher Mr Frank Hoogerbeets for his tweet three days before the earthquake. He also said there are activities in Himalayan region and timing is estimated or may even be in years.
I like the humble way he shares his information and knowledge. I am sure all INFORMATION definitely could help in many ways for countries like Nepal which was badly affected by the earthquake in 2015.
Opposition parties are blaming the government. They are accusing 20 year old government of poor regulatory measures in infrastructure. Seeking accountability is an issue but it is a systemic issue. It is a collaborative effort and they are managing this process by constant field feedback.
If the Turkish government is arresting the building owners and construction companies. They should also arrest any public servants who might have falsely certified the buildings as earthquake safe. Corruption doesn't stop if you don't punish the corrupt. Criminality does not disappear in times of disaster, in fact it will look for ways to take advantage, even of those desperate for survival.
There were many theft cases in Kathmandu during the 2015 earthquake too. In such dire conditions, looting and security matters justify the incapacity of government to assist those who have been severely affected by earthquakes, thus, in a country like Nepal, Turkey that has frequently experienced earthquakes, it should have sufficient tools and plans for how to manage crisis of this scale; shelter, food and medical emergency.
It is high time people learnt lessons from Japan about how people behaved during natural disasters. All Japanese cell phones come with an earthquake alert system, potentially giving users a 5 to 10-second window to seek shelter before the quake strikes. Earthquake resistant houses and buildings are designed to move with the quake, rather than collapsing or injuring those inside. Japan also hosts an integrated disaster prevention system. The government has issued extensive guidelines which include assembling an emergency kit in advance of a disaster.
Experts are forecasting that there are high chances of earthquakes in Delhi and the North East region including Nepal. Mostly Delhi and Nepal are getting regular shocks. People of Nepal believe in unscientific illustrations on religious stories based on illusions with no evidence. In the year AD 1961 (BS 2018) the religious loots of Nepal designed to fool people by spreading fake rumors that a massive earthquake would strike on a particular day, month. They extracted "DAAN" from innocent mass brainwashing that god would rescue them. People were taught god fearing stories instead of formal education.
People slept on tents and on ground floors. Our land was also filled with tents. Open government and private properties were filled with tents. We were sleeping on the fourth floor. People sleeping in tents inside our compound requested my parents not to risk our lives. They flatly refused. They even begged to hand over seven children. My mother was a very brave woman who knew well the characters of loots and scolded them not to believe the fake news . The earthquake didn't take place. The loots spread the news that it was the power of their praying that the earthquake didn't take place. People poured even more DAAN in big scales on those loots to save them in big scale. Nepalese looters know how to increase bank balance in the name of Natural Disaster.

The Indian government then had said the epicenter was in Bihar which is not true.

In 2015 when Amod Adhikari, chairperson of disaster related NGO was posting in Facebook so much about the possibility of earthquake people from core areas of Kathmandu who had poor structures of houses told me that Kathmandu is filled with temples and local people have been offering DAANs to Poojaries and hence no natural disaster will kill them. There were several TV programs on the earthquake, however people didn't care. Instead of analysing the risk involved people were more engaged in rituals based on fake good fearing stories.
In Japan even when earthquake 9.1 struck not a single person died. Mexico has also succeeded in saving lives during massive earthquakes. When will Nepal follow learning lessons from Japan, Mexico etc?. Building tragedies also happen in the developed world where building regulations are overlooked by the authorities. in recent years during which many people died and where we saw every party passing the buck to others. More high rise buildings are on rise with poor quality building materials. There is a strong need of engaging local bodies, municipalities, ministries, policy makers and other concerned stakeholders in preparedness program and regulation issues. It is a systemic process and all stakeholders should be made accountable.
Nepalese people remained always poor because innocent mass are still ruled by such LOOTS in the name of god. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds are spent on such loot and on the stones in the form of GOD created by LOOTS.
