Cov. 19 and unlocking from pandemic
Someday the truth will come out on how bad the lock-downs were and how their consequences will be worse than the virus.
Government is not informing about a policy on rapid exit from lock-down based more on certain heuristics, like who is vulnerable, dying and what is happening to the death rates. Government has also failed to identify and handle vulnerable sectors in the population by engaging concerned stakeholders. Better stakeholders engagement is required. What type of people are driving these stakeholder agencies? People should protest regarding poor handling from stakeholder agencies too.
The government has screwed it all up on the issue of affected people. People should protest regarding this poor management. Costs of lock-down are mounting ! Government should be doing something different, which would have been to pay attention to protecting the vulnerable.
The system designed by the ruler (social structure based on intension of "divide and rule" policy ) has never focused on undoing this wrong policy. The system could never couple the helping hand from Nepalese community which should have been tightly knit and fighting together at war footing to avert a major catastrophe. The country is always hesitant on taking bold decisions because of divided nature of society. Nepal has failed to learn from tightly knit communities (success stories) of the world who are contributing in fighting against Cov. 19. pandemic.
Nepal’s a poor country and the virus spread is increasing because leaders have failed to engage concerned stakeholders, mobilize government machineries and making them fully functional.
If lock-down reopens too soon we might have a catastrophe like Singapore and other countries. Details of the strategy for reopening lock-down should be made transparant to the public so that Nepalese communities also get engagged in engaging concerned stakeholders, mobilizing government machineries in making them fully functional.
Now Nepal Govt. also has to decide to live with Covid 19 and get the life go easy. otherwise god save Nepal from begging.
