International Women's Day (IWD)
International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. ... After women gained suffrage in Soviet Russia in 1917, March 8 became a national holiday there. The day was then predominantly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations.
Technology is in our hand loaded with huge chunks of information making us more and more powerful every day. Let us all learn, analyze the information and all share. We need to build this on every day of our life. Let us all learn technology and understand how it is changing our experiences. Technology is going to be huge part of our life very soon making us more and more powerful. We have lot of responsibilities too in this world. Let us all be inquisitive to grow more powerful so that we can take more responsibilities of the problems of poverty, deforestation, global warming, pollution, healthcare, literacy for the mass etc.
With poor infrastructure in poor countries women have to walk large distances to fetch a bucket of water where as in some developed societies hot water is provided in public taps. Women's public participation in policy design and monitoring is less owing to lack of availability and transparency of information in government’s policies and operations and absence of a strong legal system to protect the whistleblowers. Huge rural population and urban poor even today cannot access health services. Learning materials are in abundance in YouTube channels, however, decision makers of Nepal have not been able to deploy 4G infrastructure services to rural areas for unleashing the potential. We are already so late in deployment of infrastructure. Developed countries are rolling out 5G infrastructure. If Nepal does not follow the path of technology advancement it will continue getting stuck with obsolete spare part.
Technology is part of our life in every day basis. Create value every single day. We all should share the responsibility of changing the world. We have to change society ourselves. We are all connected. We are the community within the family, within the society, within the country and within the world irrespective of the caste and religion. We all are in a single virtual box. We don't have to be futuristic and technologist. Ideas fuel the world and use technology as enabler to create that change. Let us not get addicted on mobiles and stop being disrupted by technology. Let us utilize our time in blocks thinking about creating value. Let us start attracting people who are value creators for reshaping society.
This is amazing and we women need to analyze. This is awesome, but it isn’t. Something is rotten in technology and that is gender inequality.
The tech industry by its very nature is progressive and innovative, but when it comes to women in tech, it certainly is not. On events like women's international day where like-minded women can meet and persuade that technology is an industry that welcomes hard-working, passionate women. The underrepresentation of women in Tech is a topic women of the world have been covering extensively.
Girls in Tech is one of those groups. For more than 10 years they have organised conferences around the world where women can pitch their ideas, hackathons where they can build them and boot camps where they can learn the skills required to enter into the tech sector.
No matter how you look at it, a more gender diverse workforce is better for business, especially in Tech. Women are more than capable and qualified to excel in Tech-based fields, like engineering, coding, cybersecurity, and more. Many women already are excelling in Tech despite the odds stacked against them, and the forward-thinking businesses they work for are reaping the rewards. It’s time all companies recognize the bottom line benefits that prioritizing the hiring of qualified women in Tech provides.
let us specially women of this world add value to the information we collect every day through social media, add value, analyze, use and add our voice and share.
