There is an emerging opportunity of national importance—the positioning of Nepal as a globally respected, ethical, AI-enabled destination for health tourism and agro-tourism.
Nepal possesses significant comparative advantages: natural wellness resources, a growing health sector, rich agricultural landscapes, and an emerging pool of digital expertise. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in these sectors offers immense potential to drive sustainable economic growth, rural development, and international recognition.
To realize this vision effectively, we require leadership that combines technical understanding, policy experience, and global credibility. We need good leader to lead or advise this critical national initiative. We need a leadership with unique qualifications include proven national leadership experience and intellectual credibility; Deep understanding of economic transformation and rural development; Academic and policy expertise in development economics; Credibility to engage with international partners, investors, and development agencies; Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and forward-looking national development.
Given the cross-sectoral nature of this initiative, such leadership—either as the Head of a National High-Level Task Force, Special Envoy, or Policy Advisor—can ensure coordinated action among ministries, academia, private sector, and development partners.
Government should formally invite such leader to lead or guide this initiative, recognizing that Nepal’s success in this domain requires both technical innovation and visionary, ethical leadership.
