Covid 19 & data Science

Covid 19 and  Data Science

Facing the COVID-19 pandemic, vulnerable groups are experiencing greater difficulty accessing vital services and opportunities in education and employment. There is a need of caputuring detail data of vulnerable groups has become very urgent for effective planning.  Without data for informed approach to recovery, excluded people are at increased risk of being further left behind and are already falling into poverty.

Concerned stakeholders like government, private stakeholders including NGOs and INGOs should reaffirm commitment to helping reduce barriers to inclusion and promote equality of opportunity. If one is a person from excluded society  in a developing country, that person is  spending  life in  house not being able to get out, because the environment around that person is not accessible... or does not accept him/her. Now technolgy is available which can easily capture details data of such vulnerable groups.

People who are among the most excluded groups in our society often find it tough to access services, education, or employment opportunities. As a result, they are less likely to participate in the economy, which in turn drives them to poverty. Availbilty of data of such excluded groups makes planning realistic.

The global COVID-19 crisis is worsening these inequalities and exposing the deep fault lines of exclusion that already exist. Investment on new technology has become urgent for creating support system for such groups. Without an inclusive approach to recovery, one which considers the disproportionate impact that COVID has on persons from excluded group.

Challenges emerging from the COVID 19 pandemic include dangerous care home settings, increased domestic violence and discrimination in healthcare and social environments, which can include access to information. The wider digital divide has made learning difficult for those  without resources, especially those already living below the poverty line. Special task  guided by professional think tank groups is necessary for empowering all to participate in, and benefit from, the development process. A most vulnerable inclusive accessible and sustainable future is about inclusion of persons without resources in the social management response and recovery.

Government of Nepal has rolled of Digital Framework Nepal initiatives without doing adequate homework on investment of the project including regulatory framework. Private sector engagement is necessary for effective implementation of such ambitious ptoject.

Engagement of all concerned stakeholders to strengthen the promise to fight discrimination and prejudice, specifically for vulnerable or disadvantaged groups is necessary. Financial institutions’ fund for the poorest should be rolled out guided by people friendly policy commitments on excluded people which has  a chance to guarantee the inclusion of persons in development programs. Data of vulnerable groups in real time can be captured in today's world because of technology advancement for effective evidence based planning.

A number of actions has been taken through various agencies  for excluded groups during this crisis, including an issues paper that outlines the disproportionate impact experienced by the vulnerable. All NGOs, INGOs, and private sector stakeholders should be led by an IT professional team so that the services become effective. These IT professionals should have a good background in Social Science , Data Science and  Legal degree. Social scientists should reskill their knowledge  in the area of mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), INternet of Things(IOTs), Smart Devices, Robotics, Technology Convergence etc. The Curriculum department of universities should remodel the courses curriculum according to the new technology revolution. There is a need to deploy analytical tools and resources for decision makers and communities around the world to craft better policies for better lives for persons from vulnerable groups. While COVID-19 has created a human crisis of unprecedented scale, it also presents an opportunity to reimagine inclusion from vulnerable groups.

One house suffered from multiple deaths with gap of  around fifteen days. The death rituals required banning consuming salt, meat etc etc.. As per the rules of poojari Bahuns. The bread earner was already suffering from weak health. The doctors got alarmed with failing health and moneyin the bank getting drained out folliwing the expensive expenses of Buhun poojar's rituals. If one doesn't follow his routine expenses the family is said to suffer from various god-fearing accidents or dangerous incidences ir even deaths. To avoid being getting infected with dangerous Covid 19 doctors adviced the family members to take "Lean meats, fish, whole grains, dairy, legumes, nuts, and seeds also are high in nutrients". The family members suffered a lot during 13 days of death mourning sessions per person and followed by  strict rules. Garudhpuran 's unscientific god-fearing information added lot of fear into minds of remaining families and relatives.

13 days of death per person and follow strict rules the family members suffered. Garudhpuran 's unscientific god-fearing information added lot of fear into minds of remaining families and relatives. Does our government have data of pregnant women whose fetus died because of lack of food during such period? Do they also have data of people who already suffered from other illnesses and died because of such rituals?

Who will stop the loots by Brahmins who are looting families during 13 days of after death processes at Pashupati Nath or  in the houses of bereaved families whose economy has already dried up at hospitals.? These Brahmins have become richers through the processes of sending dead people to heaven by squeezing out bank balance of suffering familes (most of them bankrupt ) who have already suffered from high expences at hospitals because of high medical  expenditures before death. Will people collect data of the property assets and balances of these Brahmins? Will people collect data from such loot amongst vulnerable communities?

In India leaders were  "perpetuating the gods" instead of arranging vaccines. They were making citizens drink urine of cow as a remedy. They were made to beat thalis to drive away Covid 19 virus. People were made to burn Diya in the evenings. Government declared that Covid virus ran away with " "Foooo”.  Lakhs of people were made to take bath in Haridwar in order to free from virus. Official figure of death from Covid 19 is four Lakh. Migrant worker's death data? oxygen ?  The country lacked data and evidence-based narratives.

Why isn't government engaging Data scientists who examine which questions need answering and where to find the related data. They have analytical skills as well as the ability to mine, clean, and present data. Use data scientists to source, manage, and analyze large amounts of unstructured data. Government could have generated projects for data scientist.

How much Nepal government is aware of the fact that the future of work is going to be very different from now? AI, Robotics, Machine learning, 3D printing, Bio Technology, Virtual reality, Deep learning, Drones, Augmented reality, , Smart objects are already getting deeply in rooted in our everyday life just like electricity, computers, phones are for us today. How should we strategize in order to make our government, researchers, academia, private stakeholders etc  plan for quick initiation?

Unofficial figure of death from Covid 19  in India is said to be 40 lakh. Things are equally bad in Nepal. Temples in Nepal largely have become structurally weak and old with poor maintenance. 2015 earthquake damaged these temples. Poojaries were found briefing terror-stricken victim families saying how gods of temples absorbed the energies of earthquake in order to minimize destruction to the citizens from earthen quake shocks. Large numbers of citizens were made to spend on these Poojaries in the name of GOD in order to stop from further destruction.

Why this religion promotes fears through illusion through unscientific meaningless rituals and superstition  in the minds of innocent citizens? These Poojaries are increasing their bank balances and enjoying.
